Overview
Harriet Gire aged 26, is a South Sudanese Refugee and a mother of five children including two dependants she fled along with due to the war in 2016. Harriet was resettled with her children in Village 5, Omugo zone in Rhino Camp settlement in Terego District and the periodic food ratios distributed by the UNCHR became their lifeline.

The Women and Youth Resilience Project (WAYREP) aimed to strengthen the resilience of refugee and Ugandan women, girls and youth by reducing gender-based violence (GBV) in Northern Uganda. The project focused on addressing gender inequality and poverty among women and girls, which are significant factors contributing to GBV.

The Women and Youth Resilience Project (WAYREP) aims to strengthen the resilience of refugee and Ugandan women, girls, and youth, while reducing gender-based violence in Northern Uganda. The project's Role Model Men and Boys have successfully promoted positive masculinities and improved household relations, thanks in part to their collaboration with community members, friends, and local leaders.
